COVID-19 Statement & Response
Update 5-05-2020
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) today announced two pilot programs that will safely address a backlog of demand:
The pilot programs begin May 11. Each program eliminates the need for in-person visits to a DMV service center by enabling drivers to complete the tasks online. The pilots allow the public to get service more quickly while maintaining safety.
These changes do not require any action outside of applying for the wavier at the DMV website which can be done at https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/dmv/teen-driver/yr-frst-lcns/drivrlic.aspx . Completion certificates are sent form Crash Course Driver Education Center directly to DMV systems once a student has completed the full program.
Please note a student must complete the full program 30/6/6 and students must hold a learners permit for a minimum of 6 months.
