Can I Use My Own Car for the Road Test?
Yes, students can use their own car for the Wisconsin DMV road test — but it must meet specific requirements. Your vehicle will be inspected before the test begins to ensure it’s roadworthy and legal.
Your car must have:
✓ Valid registration and insurance
✓ Working lights, horn, wipers, and mirrors
✓ Operational seatbelts for all passengers
✓ No dashboard warning lights
✓ Front license plate (if required by law)
CrashCourse students often prefer to use one of our training vehicles, especially those in the FastTrack™ program, which includes 9 private lessons and professional preparation — though FastTrack does not include use of our car for the test.
Important:
CrashCourse does not provide vehicles for the DMV test, but we help every student practice with confidence in the car they plan to use.
