What to Expect on Test Day

Test day is a big milestone — and we want you to feel fully prepared. Here’s what you can expect when taking your Wisconsin DMV road test:

Before the Test:
✓ Arrive 15 minutes early with your permit and course completion certificates
✓ Make sure your vehicle is in good working condition (signals, brakes, lights)
✓ Dress comfortably and bring a parent/guardian if required

During the Test:
✓ A DMV examiner will sit in the passenger seat and give instructions
✓ You’ll demonstrate skills like parking, turns, lane changes, and defensive driving
✓ Tests usually last 20–30 minutes

After the Test:
✓ You’ll get your results immediately
✓ If you pass, you’ll receive instructions to obtain your license
✓ If not, you’ll get feedback and a chance to retest later

CrashCourse instructors will ensure you’ve practiced every skill you’ll need. Your dashboard will let you know when you’ve met all requirements and are ready to test.
