Wisconsin Road Test Checklist

Getting ready for your Wisconsin road test? Here's a full checklist to help you prepare, pass with confidence, and earn your driver’s license.

Eligibility Requirements:
✓ Be at least 16 years old
✓ Hold your instruction permit for at least 6 months
✓ Complete 30 hours of classroom, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel, and 6 hours of observation
✓ Maintain a clean driving record for the past 6 months

Bring These Items to the DMV:
- Instruction permit
- Completion certificate (MV3001 form)
- Proof of identity (if requested)
- Parent/guardian (if under 18)

Your Vehicle Must Have:
- Valid registration and insurance
- Working seat belts, lights, and horn
- No dashboard warning lights
- Clean interior and good brakes

What You’ll Be Tested On:
- Backing up in a straight line
- Parallel parking
- Turns, lane changes, and merging
- Obeying traffic signs and signals
- Defensive driving awareness
